Guest Post | Meet Lisa Green of CouponGirlsLA as Featured on #ExtremeCouponing | Extreme Couponing by J'aime Kirlew Couponing™

My name is Lisa Green of CouponGirlsLa. I was featured on TLC Extreme Couponing June 11, 2012. If any of you have seen the episode then you know I am determined to pay my home off by next year. This is a huge goal that I am determined to reach. I have been couponing all my life but around 5 years ago when Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans La, I was forced to learn to Extreme Coupon. My family income was dropped by $5k a month. With just purchasing a new home and car there was no way in the world to pay all of my household bills. I literally had $20-$40 a week to buy food and other necessities. With six people in the home that was almost impossible. As you know $40 does not buy much at the grocery store. So I taught myself how to Extreme Coupon.

Couponing can be confusing if you don’t have anyone to help you. Luckily, you have CouponGirlsLa and J’aime Kirlew to help you learn the ropes. After making many mistakes, and spending way to much money I finally learned how to master Extreme Couponing. My main goal was to provide for my family, after I succeeded in doing this. I decided to start paying off my mortgage. I have began to reach this goal also. Now I teach others how they can reach their goals with couponing. I began by teaching classes and they were always booked. But, then I decided to do Coupon parties. These were an instant hit. I soon after started donating to local food banks and various other organizations,then soon the local media decided to do a new story about me. I knew I could do more to help people. I live in a small parish in Louisiana. The only organization that was able to help people in need with food was closed due to the economy. I decided I would help. Another fellow Extreme Couponer, which I taught, got together and started feeding the needy people in our parish. During Thanksgiving 2011 we feed 50 families out of our stockpiles. And during Christmas 2011 we feed 250 families. I decided then I wanted to be on TLC Extreme Couponing. That goal has been reached.
